Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Carlos Souza‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week was entitled “Lady Liberty”.
This collection is a sample of New Age couture that embraces haute couture techniques and manufacture with a contemporary and modern style, highlighting the femininity and shape of a woman’s body.
Lady Liberty is inspired in New York, from the Chrysler Building to the Statue of Liberty, in the shape and mood of the 50s, figure hugginggarments and ladylike feeling, in the colours and landscapes of the desert. A fall winter collection idealised for every woman that wants to be powerful, stylish and timelessly classic with a modern twist.

Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Schenell Stephens‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week was entitled “REINVENT”.
REINVENT, came about from an encounter with a shocking pink, metallic, bubble wrap envelope. From there the collection looks particularly at shape, dexterity, colour and functionality.
The collection promotes desirability and brings a new perspective on urban wear. With innovation driving the collection, there is a hybrid of glamorous and sportswear design ideals. With the use of appliqué logo’s and jewelled puffa jackets. The collection pushes to re-create the casual sportswear classics with a bold twist.
The collection is aimed at the young at heart, free spirited and cutting edge individual.

Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Ross Keenan‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week 2010 was entitled “Up To The Nines”.
Saville Row trained and inspired Ross Paul Keenan fuses contemporary design with classic tailoring to evolve a collection for the modern gentleman and the urban warrior. Hard tailored garments are fused with protective padding and clever details to create a collection of menswear that sits at home in every man’s wardrobe.

GFW: Qeesra Dad
Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Qeesra Dad‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week 2010 was entitled “Persuasiveness into your Mind”.
Being inspired by Chatsworth House and the 18th Century sexual paintings, deep architecture detail of the ceilings and walls (Interior and Exterior), rich and elegant colors garments and luggage translating all of the detail and textures were created. By using the lazer cutting technique to create the 3d affect and by digital scanning images using Photoshop and AutoCAD the transformation of still objects was put onto fabric enriching the textures and the images on the garments.

Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Jane Branco‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week 2010 was entitled “Kiss Me Deadly”.
KISS ME DEADLY has its inspirational roots in movies, especially the noir movies from the fifties and in the characteristics of the futuristic art movement that tries to capture the next instant of the movement. KISS ME DEADLY also aims to continue the movement of the body.
The fabric of choice is silk-jersey in soft tones of grey, orange, blue and white. The silhouette is elongated and elegantly slim and aims to accentuate the curves of the body playing with the symmetry of the body and balance of the proportions.
KISS ME DEADLY is a rich eveningwear collection that will explore sensuality through all the senses.

Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Anna Grzegorczyk‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week 2010 was entitled “Patterns of the Earth”.
My collection is inspired by my trips to Scandinavian countries and a book by Bernhard Edamier “Patterns of the Earth”. It is influenced by the beauty and harshness of nature in the Norwegian fjords. My collection is rustic and organic. Exaggerated shape is cocoon looking. The texture is strong with hand dyed fabrics inspired by ripples and cracks from Edamier’s book. Big, chunky wooden jewellery gives a modern look. The whole collection has a beautiful balance between texture, organic feel, fullness and wood.

Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Rachel Taylor‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week 2010 was entitled “Spirit of Philae”.
Spirit of Philae is an elaborate, ornate and luxurious collection inspired by the fascinating culture of Egypt. With both ancient and modern influences the look is dominant, striking and elegant with opulent highlights and intricate detailing. The spirit of the collection is that of the ancient queens of Egypt who are strong, powerful and beautiful. The colour palette is a stunning mix of warm spices, muted brights with highlights of gold for a really opulent and intense feel, grounded with black for an array of sophistication.

Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Jennifer Bourne‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week 2010 was entitled “Pacific Adornment”.
Organic jewels lie under a dark, powerful shield… so beautiful, yet so fragile that one touch could kill…
Elegantly draped shapes inspired by the smooth, fluid waves of dark and mysterious oceans fall from the body in soft jersey and light georgette. The designs are enhanced with rich embellishment. Just as our coral reefs bejewel the ocean. The dark silhouettes are uplifted with bright flashes of colour and texture. Detailed prints add depth and illusion to this elaborate, contemporary yet still sophisticated style.

Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Parastoo Dehghanian‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week 2010 was entitled “(Cube)2″.
Hand in hand, lips on lips, connect, click, and merge in one…
Connection: physical or emotional, maybe connecting what shouldn’t be, connecting objects that decline each other or others that call out for each other, connecting the missing pieces, the wrong the right, the soft the solid, connecting identities, the past the future reading the connection between the fingerprint lines. The ties the knots the hoops the hooks the shoe laces that dance through the holes, the trains that slide through the tunnels, the connections of travel, transit, underground, tube maps and maps connecting A to B. You to me.

Sunday June 6th – University of East London graduate Carly Njini‘s collection at Graduate Fashion Week 2010 was entitled “Lucent Umbra”.
Inspired by the shapes and colours produced by light and shadows in analogue photography, I looked at the unpredictability of using film and the effects produced that can combine to create a magic, dream-like atmosphere.
The collection utilizes chiffon, organza, jersey and leather in hues of blue, black and white, along with digital prints created from cut outs of photographs.
