Alternative Fashion Week kicks off

without comments

Alternative Fashion Week kicked off this morning at Spitalfields Market, showcasing innovative and original ideas, unfettered by commercial constraint, supporting sustainability and new talent – exactly the sort of event HNT was set up to cover.

First order of the day was model auditions, where the designers choose which of the volunteer models would showcase their designs on the catwalk. Rosie Whitney-Fish was on hand to choreograph headline sponsors Garmin’s launch of their nüvi 3700 personal navigation device. Alternative Fashion Week (AFW) is also supported by real estate company Hammerson, owners of the Spitalfields Estate which hosts AFW, and media partners Fashion UK and Yelp.

HNT will be covering the entire event, so check back here throughout the week for photographs of all the showcased designers’ shows. Or, if you’re in the area, drop by any day this week – admission is free and the catwalk shows are at 1pm each day.
